An interview with James

December 10, 2021

He’s run the London marathon, played tennis with Tim Henman and his guilty pleasure’s Nando’s! Learn more about W5’s newest recruit in our interview with James…

James Roche joins the W5Physio team as a Sports Massage Therapist. Specialising in soft and deep tissue, remedial massage and assisted stretching, James realised a passion for these techniques following a long career as a sports person himself.

“I was a tennis player and coach, so understand the tennis body. I’m also fascinated by biomechanics, so am happy to help with any sports related injuries/issues, especially those related to rotational sports. I can also help with postural issues.”

Having had plenty of physio and massage sessions to treat his own injuries, James became aware of the importance of physical therapy and developed an interest in looking after the body. He now enjoys helping clients to understand where their issues may be stemming from and takes pride in easing their mind through easing pain.

His deep involvement in tennis led to James meeting and even hitting a few balls around with former British no.1 and world top 5 Tennis pro, Tim Henman.

But James’ interest in sport and fitness doesn’t end with tennis. One of his greatest achievements was completing the London Marathon in just four hours, even after having suffered a hip injury just six months before. He also enjoys doing regular outdoor bootcamp-style HIIT sessions and at weekends can be found leading kids’ bootcamp classes (well, he has to do something to burn off his favourite treat, Nando’s!).

When taking time out from participating in sport himself, James can be found watching his beloved Liverpool Football Club. Continuing with the ‘action’ theme he also enjoys catching up with SAS Who Dares Wins and adventures from The Marvel Universe.

James is thrilled to have joined the W5Physio team and is looking forward to working with lots of new clients. Why not book an appointment and let James help you relieve aches, pains, stiffness and tension.
